Todd Cochrane Ramblings and Happenings

My wife and I have decided to make our home here in Hawaii after I retire. Up to this point I have been very quiet in the Hawaii Political front because my residency was officially tied back to the mainland.

This has now changed, and I am now going to become what I would call politically active here in Hawaii. As a small business owner I understand the constraints of doing business in this state, and I also see the stranglehold the Democrats have on the political process here. The abuses they get away with makes me sick to my stomach and would not be tolerated in other States.

Not to mention the taxes being laid on us for the ridiculous rail project that will cost billions and line the pockets of construction companies and make the unions stronger. The rail will not cause traffic relief. Simple fixes to the current infrastructure would provide immediate needed relief to the 100's of thousands that site in the parking lot of the expressways here.

This state has a boat load of problems, and sadly the state legislature has had their way for to many years. There has been only one democratic process and that is what the democrats in the house and senate in Hawaii want. If the Republican Governor tries to veto a bill the legislature just holds a special session and over rides the veto. I like the Governor but her hands are tied and legislature treats her as a puppet.

The democrat controlled legislature have free reign to do what they want to do, with no accountability. Largely because people in this state don't vote for candidates on issues they vote for candidates that wave to them while they are driving to work.

It is time for this nonsense to end and for people in this state to wake the hell up and see what is happening. No longer can Hawaii we be ruled and dictated to by one party, no longer should the school system which is one of the worst in the nation be allowed to continue to flush the education of our children down the drain. It is time to start making people accountable and cleaning house.

Case in point the democrat controlled legislature is about to over-ride every bill the governor did not sign or vetoed. She has asked for cooperation not partisanship.

I support the Governors open letter and urge each legislature to really examine what the Governor has presented.

John F. Kerry on Defense -- I hadn't seen this list printed before. It would make one heck of a mailer if it were sent to voters.

development and deployment of every weapons systems since 1988 to
include the battle armor for our troops. With Kerry as president our Army will be made up of naked men running around with sticks and clubs.

He also voted to kill all anti terrorism activities of every agency of
the U.S. Government and to cut the funding of the FBI by 60%, to cut the funding for the CIA by 80%, and cut the funding for the NSA by 80%. No wonder our intelligence was so wrong about WMD...!

But then he voted to increase OUR funding for U.N operations by 800%!!!

Is THIS a President YOU want? He will kill our military as much if not more than Clinton and Gore did...! Plus place then under control of the U.N.

Again, do you think you can sleep well with your kids possibly under U.N. control?

Please pass this on, as many people may not know how bad it REALLY is. And don't limit your sending to just your Republican friends. Everyone needs to know... Flip flop (Kerry) and Mop Top (Edwards) are not the real deal...

Several thing are brewing in RSS land, one centers around Technorati as it looks like they are getting ready to start pulling Political feeds in a separate area. Along with that Dave Winer has a hot project in work that will be needing some hard-core bloggers to help out on. It's nice to see that innovation in the weblog community is alive and well. I am very saddened by a story I have read today where a Iraq Veteran was called a baby killer and murderer during a 4th of July parade. Shame on those people everyone has their right to a opinion but do not start Vietnam tactics and insult the boys coming home. [Seattle PI]

Seems several right leaning Bloggers where able to get press credebtials to the Democratic National Convention seems the DNC got cold feet and sent them a e-mail and canceled their credentials this is after they booked plane tickets and hotels. [INDC Journal] [John Tabin]

I had a great chat with a handful of people tonight on the RNC chat server. Great conversation about half politics and half about life. To that special Navy family in Wisconsin my prayers are with you and your husbands medical battle.

I will be checking in their from time to time and encourage those of you that want to talk politics or just meet some new friends to register and login. I am also looking for people here in Hawaii to join my RNC team.

I received this note today from the RNC as I am a Team Leader here in Hawaii.

Dear Todd,

Many Republican State Party Chairs sent the following letter to their Democratic counterparts today:

"America Coming Together (ACT) has claimed to reach over 2 million targeted households in their efforts to register Democratic voters to defeat President George W. Bush. This week in Arkansas the Kerry campaign hired a senior member of the ACT team to lead their state
efforts. Recently in Ohio the state Democratic Party declared that ACT will run the ground game for them.

As both our parties mount aggressive efforts to register new voters and encourage participation in the political process, I hope you will join me in repudiating these tactics to provide all voters the assurance that the election process is transparent, bipartisan, and fair."

I can't tell you enough how important our Party's grassroots efforts are and how much pride we take in your role as Team Leaders. You make ours the hardest working, most efficient political team in the history of politics.

I saw a political advertisement today that was depressing. Everything I hear coming out of the man is doom and gloom. I keep hearing things he doesn't like about Bush but he has nothing come out of his mouth about his own agenda.

After reviewing his voting record recently I am quite convinced that having this man in office would not be at all good for this country. Being Hawaii is about 60% democrat it is always fun to attend family events as the only Republican in the crowd and when we start talking politics I am amazed at what people say and when I challenge their facts on things and we go and look things up on the Internet I get a lot of shocked faces when the fact they are stating is wrong. Many times I hear that they learned this in union newsletters. The unions here in Hawaii must have political indoctrination meetings. I am going to try and score some union newsletters to see what kind of BS they are putting out.

I support George W. Bush for re-election. You need to visit his website today and look at a Video they have posted it is quite eye opening.

<P>My co-workers and I are sitting in a mall food court today when a man holding his Son's hand walks by us and says. "Son when you see Americans you need to run away and hide your sister as they will kill you". All three of us about fell over. The man was wearing traditional Arab wear which from his clothing indicated he was from Saudi Arabia. He then turned around and made similar comments very close to us in a very large voice.</P>
<P>A equally shocked store clerk from the country we are visiting and a Filipino worker who was cleaning tables both turned and where about speechless. The store clerk was so upset that he got on his cell phone and called the police worried that the man would come and attack us. We quickly de-fused the situation by leaving the mall and proceeded back to our residence. I must say that I did take a few minutes to look under the car to make sure it did not go boom when we turned the key on.</P>
<P>I have traveled in Europe and the Middle East for 20 years and this was the first Anti-American comment I have ever heard directed at me. The man was obviously angry and what is even more depressing is that his son was no more than 4-5 years old. He clutched his Fathers leg and looked at us like we where the devil. There is a young boy that will grow up in a home that in 20 years will be blowing himself up against an American target because of his Father's deep hatred for Americans.</P>

<P>Democrat left wingers are sure digging for anything they can to discredit President Bush and coming up with all kinds of conspiracy theories it is indeed sad that they can not see the bigger picture. The press is going nuts about all of these hostages in Iraq, don't you think those that are in that country as part of the team trying to re-build the country or part of a relief organization understand the risk. The news organizations are having a field day but they have forget to cover the aspect that they are their of their own free will. </P>
<P>The military brothers and sisters are definitely ordered their but the last I checked the military is still a "ALL VOLUNTEER FORCE". Those of you that are not aware of the Oath military members make of there own free volition need to do a google search and check it closely.</P>
